New York — More than a dozen people were injured when a car crashed into a restaurant in upper Manhattan on Monday.
Thankfully, all are expected to survive.
It happened at 204th Street in Inwood on Broadway.
Two cars collided, and one lost control and crashed into the restaurant’s front door.
At least 15 people were injured, including children aged 7 and 10.
Surveillance video shows a gas station next to the restaurant. In it, a silver car can be seen driving out onto Broadway.
That’s when it hits the Inwood Bar and Grill.
Police say the driver of the silver car took off and fled the scene.
The driver of the black car, Solly Toure, remained at the scene.
He told CBS that he was an Uber driver and had a passenger in his car when the crash occurred. Both suffered minor injuries.
Toure says he feared for his life when a silver car appeared out of nowhere.
“He was running very fast. That’s why he hit me. If he hadn’t come so fast, he wouldn’t have hit me,” Toure said. “I think my life is over when it hits me. That’s what I think… I don’t drive. Like a drunk driver. I don’t do it. This is my job.”
No arrests have been made.
